Legislative Update – We will review changes to transparency requirements for hospitals and how the newly available information can be valuable in personal injury cases. We will also revisit Assembly Bill 72 (Surprise medical bill act, AB72) and discuss the legislative intent.
Deciphering Medical Bills – We will discuss the steps you take when you get a case with medical specials and also how to most efficiently make use of a bill review expert.
Establishing Reasonable Value – We will discuss how to evaluate the value of medical treatment by applying Howell when there is payment information and also discuss how to evaluate the value when there is very little or no payment information by applying guidance from the legislature found in AB72.
