A MESSAGE FROM THE ADC PRESIDENT'S DESK:
Welcome to the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada's new website. We are excited about our new platform and hope you will enjoy our new technological upgrades. As the 2010 President of the ADC, I am honored to serve the organization and to work with twenty-eight other hard working Board members and our fantastic management team headed by Executive Director, Jennifer Blevins and Kim Ingersoll.
The ADC is now in our 51st year of service as the voice of civil defense attorneys in Northern California and Nevada. Our members represent clients in all lines of business in the civil defense arena, but our common bond is the need for an organized voice with the Court, the Judicial Council and the Legislature through our legislative advocate, Mike Belote and the California Defense Counsel and through the work of our Amicus Committee. In addition, our education seminars are excellent and often are presented on new and emerging areas of the law. Further, our Annual Meeting held each year at the Westin St. Francis on Union Square in December is top notch and a must attend every year.
The substantive law committees provide informative e-blast updates on current state of the law and they hold educational events and lunchtime brown bag seminars. Our goal is to keep our members updated on new case law and legislation. This year we have sent many e-blast updates to our members and held education seminars that have helped our members. The ADC Substantive Law Committees include: Construction, Employment, Insurance, Landlord/Tenant, Litigation, Medical/Health, Public Entity, Toxic Tort, Transportation and Young Lawyer. We have a sub-law committee for everyone so get involved and join a committee now.
The ADC has a rich tradition of providing many services to our members including:
- Educational Seminars
- California Defense Counsel
- Amicus Committee
- Substantive Law Committees
- Defense Comment Magazine
- Young Lawyer Committee
- Judicial Outreach
- Social networking and fun outings
The ADC exists to benefit our members, so if you have any ideas for additional ways that we can serve you, please contact me or any member of our Board. We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your continued support of the ADC!
Best Regards,
Karen Jacobsen
