This presentation is intended to educate the attorney audience on aspects of a BESS failure investigation so that they can better understand litigation considerations during an investigation. Growth in the number of BESS systems installed is expected to continue increasing at a high rate over the next several years. A failure of a BESS system can be very costly involving many parties and complex technical issues. This presentation will cover the uses of a BESS, the components of a BESS, and the failure investigation of a BESS. Understanding, the BESS system, the types of parties involved, and the process of the investigation will help an attorney evaluate what types of experts are involved and how to collect relevant data and perform relevant analysis to prepare and understand their case for litigation.
